The Tennessee Association of Accountants was founded in 1946 by a small group of dedicated accountants who acknowledged the value of integrity and self discipline in public accounting and therefore, promulgated an effective code of ethics and rules of professional conduct to help guide the future of this profession. The growth in membership, prestige and influence in the state has been most constant. Through the years, the Association has become more and more active and instrumental in promoting and upgrading public accountants through educational programs at both the state and local levels.
